Vom nahe gelegenen Bahnhof geht es mit dem Zug nach Hoorn - für mich eine Reise in die Vergangenheit - ich habe für ein halbes Jahr im Städtchen gewohnt.
From the close station we travel by train to Hoorn - for me it's a journey into the past - I lived some time in little town Hoorn.
Die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug, im Nu haben wir Hoorn erreicht.
Ziel unseres Ausflugs ist das Restaurant S'Shipperhuis am Hafen, in dem Pierre Kartner das Lied "Die kleine Kneipe" geschrieben hat. Populär machte diese Geschichte André Rieu, als er dort Aufnahmen für seine DVD Walzertraum machte.
Time flies, in a flash we reached Hoorn.
Aim of our trip is the tavern S'Shipperhuis at the habor, where Pierre Kartner wrote the song "the red rose cafe". the story became known by André Rieu, who did recordings for his CD/DVD and visited the tavern.
Wir essen im Lokal typisch holländische Spezialitäten, Kroketten, Fleischbällchen. Beschlossen wird das Mittagsmahl mit "Kopje Koffie" - und dem Mitsingen "der kleinen Kneipe" in holländisch und englisch.
We eat typical Dutch specialities, "krokettes, meat balls.. We finisch the meal with "kopje koffie" ( cup of coffee) - and the singing of the "Red Rose Cafe" in Dutch and English.
Die Wirtin verfügt über - zig Versionen dieses Liedes, wir hören, daß im vergangenen Monat auch eine australische Gruppe das Lokal besuchte, um eben diesen Lied zu hören.
The hostess has collected lots of versions of the song, she told us, that last month there was an Australian group who visited the tavern only to listen the song.
Am Ende des Tages stellen wir fest - André Rieu führt Freunde aus aller Welt zusammen und das Beste sind die Fan-Treffen - das Konzert wird da fast zur Nebensache.
At the end of the day we declare - André Rieu makes friends all over the world and the best are the fan meetings - the concert becomes nearly a minor matter.
