Finally it's Friday morning - I'll meet my American and Dutch friends at the Hotel Viktoria. It is so nice to see all of them again, for the first time since Toronto - it's like a family meeting. After a short while we leave for the central station and travel to Hoorn, to see the "Red Rose Cafe".
For me - it is a journey into the past - I lived in Hoorn long, long time ago.
Hoorn is a nice, medival city with a wonderful habour. After a cozy walk we reach the habour and the little tavern S'Shipplerhuis, the hostess has a huge varity of the song "The red rose cafe", which is known in Germany as "Die kleine Kneipe". The song was written in this place by Pierre Kartner, years later André Rieu taped for the broadcast show, pictures of this event can be seen in the tavern. We taste typical Dutch food and listen to the song of the red rose cafe. Many of us sing along.
In the late afternoon we return to Amsterdam, a wonderful excursion comes to an end, but for me - the Amsterdam Arena is waiting tonight ..
